JOURNAL
1 of 1 Indigo dip dyed version of the original Journal cover
For the smart creative who respects the blending of traditional craft and modern design. A leather journal cover that prevents re-purchasing covers repeatedly, bypasses forgetting your pen and marks exactly where you last were in your thoughts — all with one smart, single cut of leather.
Made from start to finish with zero electricity in the process at Cabal Crafted studio.
Scroll below for more details.
CRAFT
Dipped dyed with Cabal’s painstaking proprietary resist-dye technique in natural, organic indigo.
Hand sewn with traditional saddle stitch technique which is stronger than an industrial lock stitch, and is not currently replicated by machines.
Edges are finished traditionally with wood, friction, and beeswax.
DESIGN
Efficiently constructed from one, smart cut of leather
The owner’s pen completes the closure system, while doubling as a pen holder
Rounded internal bookmark contrasts the rectangular shape of the cover making a clear but gentle visual cue
Internal book mark tucks out of sight when not in use
Designed to open flat with no internal “ledges” to skip over when writing
CARE
It is important to note that the natural patina (shine) and deepening of the color over time in a leather piece is a desirable sign of the quality of the leather
The organic indigo dye may transfer to light fabrics, please slow down to care for your product and the products that are around it
For non-indigo dyed areas Cabal crafted recommends spot treating with leather conditioner / cleaner such as Obenauf’s - follow instructions and test in an inconspicuous area first
